Good Morning,

The next distribution will be at Hampton Homes on March 20th and will require 120 items and 275 brochures.  The distribution will be handled by NC Central Alumni. Please be sure to check the house for clothing, food and toys.

Marilyn Smith has requested the brochures be delivered to her a week prior to distribution.  Her contact information is masmith@gha-nc.org, phone number 370-4380 and office is located at 1306 East Lee Street.

Annie Griffin is the Resident President of Hampton Homes, 1300 Ogden Street, and contact number is 271-4689.

Please note the next meeting will be on Thursday, March 4th, at noon.  We will meet at the Golden Corral located at 2419 Lawndale Drive, phone number 545-5808.  The restaurant is located near Target.

Sandra Anderson-Groat has several critical items that must be addressed at this meeting. 

It is very important that everyone attend if possible.  Your input is needed in the decision making of possible changes within INASMUCH.

The next distribution will be at Hickory Trails on January 23rd and will require 90 items and 130 brochures.  The distribution will be handled by Bass Chapel.   Please be sure to take clothing and toys out of the house and deliver to Hickory Trails.

December 15, 2009

The next distribution is Saturday December 19th at Claremont Homes located at 2705 Patio Place.  There are 190 bags and 250 brochures needed. The hams will be distributed this month.

There is not a church to handle the distribution this month so Kelly and Company
            (Sandra’s Anderson Groat’s Family) will be doing the distribution.

We ask if anyone is available to help with the distribution please arrive at Claremont around 9:30 am.

INASMUCH had their Christmas Party at the Village Tavern earlier this month and everyone had a great time.

The distribution dates were drawn for 2010 and are available at  www.inasmuchministry.org/schedule.htm.

A special thanks to Rehobeth United Methodist for the many years of dedication to INASMUCH and we wish both churches the best in their new ventures.

January 5, 2009

The December Christmas meeting was hosted by Sandra Anderson-Groat at her home.  The food was excellent and thanks to those who were able to attend and brought side dishes.

There will not be a meeting in January however each church who is collecting food please continue to do so.

The distribution schedule for 2009 will be published at the next meeting.

May 2009 be a blessing to INASMUCH and thanks to everyone who has worked so hard in 2008 for this Ministry.

Good Morning,

The next distribution will be at Hickory Trails on November 22nd, and will require 90 items and 127 brochures.  Distribution will be handled by Oak Ridge.

The next meeting is Wednesday, November 5th with the board meeting at 11:15 am and regular meeting at noon.  Our location is 2406 Apache Street

The November and December distribution we provide hams that need to be picked up at BestWay on Walker Avenue. Sandra Anderson Groat will be working with Brooke Beckett on getting the hams for November.

We appreciate everyone who has donated clothing, toys and shoes (need athletic shoes).  There is a need for more clothing as the winter season is approaching.  Please keep in mind we always need to appeal to the children so consider games and fun things like face painting or playing basketball at your distribution.  Should you have left over Halloween candy, nice treat bags would be good handout.

INASMUCH would like to thank Miller Carter and Metropolitan United Methodist Church and for their participation in this Ministry. They are no longer able to participate effective immediately.

There will be a board meeting on September 3rd at 11:15.  This is one month later than normal due to people taking vacation.  I have been asked to stay on the board and will do this at least through the end of the year.

The next distribution will be May 17th at Ray Warren Homes.  It will require 190 items and 236 brochures and will be handled by River of Life.  The next meeting will be on June 4th at 12:15.

We are checking into the idea of buying a year worth of bags for the distributions.  This would be approximately 2500 bags.  If we could buy them wholesale, and store them at the Inasmuch House it would benefit all the churches.

I am stepping down from my position in June.  Pat Kelly will be taking my position and she will need your help.  Inasmuch needs officers to continue its operation.  We have had unfilled positions for several years and this has to stop.  We nee a few energetic people to step up and take ownership.

The next distribution will be on April 26th at Claremont Homes.  It will require 190 bags, 250 brochures, and be handled by Bass Chapel and Collins Grove.  The next meeting will be May 7th with a board meeting at 11:15 followed by the normal steering committee meeting at 12:15.  Miller Carter of Metropolitan UMC will be joining the board as will Pat Kelly of New Covenant Wesleyan.

Sandra Anderson Builders new address is 412 Arlington St. (27406) if you need a key to the Inasmuch House.

We still need some trailer repairs (light and hitch) if you have anyone with that expertise in your church.  Remember to check the trailer tire pressure when you use it.

We still plan to have a meeting with Resident Presidents to help determine how we can improve Inasmuch.

The next distribution will be March 15th at Smith Homes and will require 200 items and 430 brochures.  It is early because of Easter, so take note and get your items in early.

We always have a need for clothes but especially could use children's athletic shoes.  We always need to appeal to children so remember to consider games and fun things like face painting at your distribution.

If you have a printer in your congregation, we would like to let them bid on printing updated Inasmuch brochures.  We need these done and would like to give anyone in the Inasmuch family first consideration for the job.

Sandra is talking to people about taking Board positions and positions as officers.  So you may be getting a call.  The next meeting will be April 2nd and I hope to see you there.

February 11, 2008 

The next distribution is Feb 23th at Hampton Homes and will require 120 items and 275 brochures.  It will be handled by Bass Chapel.  The next meeting will be March 5th at 12:15.

If anyone has experience with trailers, we are missing a rear light and there is reported to be a problem with the front stand on the tongue.  If someone could look at this, Inasmuch can pay for whatever parts are needed.  Also, when you drop things off in the trailer, please don't block the door for the next person.

Sandra will be moving her office in April and so we may benefit by gaining some furniture.

Inasmuch will be ten years old this July and we are looking at ways to publicize this milestone.

The distribution at Hickory Trails went well.  The churches had more than enough volunteers but low turn out by residents.  This is a problem we have faced off and on at all the sites.  It is suggested that we have a sit-down with the Resident Presidents to discuss this and future options for Inasmuch.  Sandra is investigating the availability of Grace UMC downtown as a central, neutral meeting site.

My time is winding down and we need people to agree to lead Inasmuch.  Pray on this.

The next distribution will be January 26 at Hickory Trails.  It will require 90 items and 127 brochures and will be handled by Rehobeth, Center and Morehead churches.  The next board meeting will be at 11:15 on February 6 followed by the normal planning meeting at 12:15.

We are trying to get some updated brochures printed and a small sign to go on the INASMUCH house.  The contact information will now be password protected.  Go to the website: http://www.inasmuchministry.org/contact.htm.  The line for private access requires the user id: inasmuch (lower case) and the password is Matt2540 (note initial cap required).  Lonnie has handled this and has done a wonderful job.  You can now see the INASMUCH video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGMQ1CwfK1U (updated 1/28/08)  Whew! That tired me out.

On a serious note, I have been in my position with INASMUCH for almost four years.  If I were a Methodist minister, I would have been moved by now.  While I have mostly enjoyed the last four years, it has taken a toll.  I feel it is time for someone else to step up and take over.  I will be relinquishing my chair by mid year.  This gives INASMUCH time to find new officers.
